Winamp ASIO output module | SRD upsampler for audio files | Upsampler results |
This program was created due to the particularly positive sound properties and experience gained with integration into the Winamp ASIO output plugin. It makes this interpolation algorithm usable when playing back on other systems or media players.
Install using Setup.exe.
Add audio files via file requester or drag&drop (files, not directories).
The sample rate of an audio file can be doubled or quadrupled. The interpolation quality used by the SRD-S corresponds to the parameters integrated in the ASIO Winamp plugin. With the SRD-L, the parameters for bandwidth and signal-to-noise ratio are increased, at the expense of a significantly longer computing time. It is primarily intended for adequate upsampling of high-res audio files (above CD/DAT quality).
The peak values of the calculated sample points can exceed the original maxima and lie outside the permissible number range. In order to be able to map this high-frequency and dynamic information in the audio file, the volume level in the output file must be adjusted accordingly. The additional dynamic range required varies greatly from a few tenths of a decibel to over +3dB, depending on the music album. With the automatic adjustment modes, the results of the upsampling are first temporarily saved in 32-bit resolution and converted into the target format with knowledge of the peak value actually achieved (title or all titles).
The title information is transferred to the target file for text tags (e.g. title/artist/tracknumber) - depending on the file format
To define the output file names, the name of the respective original file is used as basis and changed using a common template.
In the same way as with the file names, the name of the file folder optionally created for the audio files can also be derived from the original directory name.
.
During upsampling, the computer load can be regulated by the number of CPUs involved. If less than 3 CPUs/Cores are available, this option is not available (minimum that can be set is 2).
Files highlighted in green are ready. The hook in the checkbox is removed for both successfully and unsuccessfully completed titles and the file is thus excluded from further processing. If, for example, previous titles are activated afterwards during the calculation process (or generally in 2-pass album mode), the list is immediately reviewed again until all tasks have been processed.
